Pancha Karma treatment means five treatments those include Vaman, Virechan, Anuvasan Vasti, Asthapan Vasti and Nasya Karma associated with many other ancillary treatments. All these treatments look very simple. Of course they are simple as they are achieved through the natural path. Obviously they are practiced in many Ayurvedic hospitals. But point to be noted: it is not important just, to perform pancha karma, it is important to eliminate toxin, cure disease, not to create another disease or complication and perform pancha Karma with proper traditional and scientific guidelines.
Vaman is the induced vomiting therapy by a qualified doctor. Vaman is otherwise called Chhardi, Banti etc. It is meant to eliminate Vikruta Kapha and Apakwa Pitta (by Sarngadhar). The sight of activity is limited from mouth to end of the stomach, the pyloric sphincter. But the action is wide spreaded.
Vaman has its own limitation. It is not allowed in case of hyper tension, cardiac or heart disease, eye disease etc. Vaman does have a very good preventive activity. A healthy person can go for a vaman karma after consulting the doctor. The favourable season for wellness management by Vaman is the Basant Ritu (Spring season).
Vaman karma is the main operation sorrounded by ancillary treatments (Upakarmas) like Poorva karma (Dipana, Paachan, Sneha Paana, Dosha Utkleshana) and Paschat Karma (Samsarjana Karma).
It is safe and easy. But Vaman is a treatment supposed to be achieved under the direct supervision of an expert doctor.
