Pancha Karma treatment means five treatments those include Vaman, Virechan, Anuvasan Vasti, Asthapan Vasti and Nasya Karma associated with many other ancillary treatments. All these treatments look very simple. Of course they are simple as they are achieved through the natural path. Obviously they are practiced in many Ayurvedic hospitals. But point to be noted: it is not important just, to perform pancha karma, it is important to eliminate toxin, cure disease, not to create another disease or complication and perform pancha Karma with proper traditional and scientific guidelines. Anuvasan vasti is one of the five pancha karma treatments and two types of vasti. Anuvasn vasti with the other one (i.e. Asthapan Vasti) is considered to be the half of the total Pancha karma treatment. Basically it is an oil or ghee enema treatment where medicine is introduced through anus. It is snigdha, soumya, i.e. nourishing by nature. This Anuvasan vasti is a very safe treatment. Vitiated Vata dosha is managed and settled through Vasti treatment. This treatment is indicated in case of all types of nerve diseases and joint disorders like paralysis, motor neuron disease(MND), parkinsonism, sciatica, rheumatism, arthritis, PID, spondylosis etc. Other than these abdominal discomfort, gout, seminal disease, bowel insufficiency, kidney stone, amenorrhoea can be managed by vasti treatment. We practice Anuvasan vasti at Astang Ayurveda Hospital. This Anuvasana Vasti has many synonyms like Anuvasan Vasti-Matra Vasti-Sneha Vasti-Snigdha Vasti.
